Outline

1. Background and Objectives

(1) Background

In 2008, taking opportunity of the “Japan International Contents Festival 2008” (“CoFesta”) held in Tokyo, the Asia Contents Business Summit Kick-off Meeting was held with the presence of Asian countries and regions.
In the meeting, it was agreed, based on the consensus obtained from the participants, that in and after 2009, the Asia Contents Business Summit would be held on a regular basis to aim at strengthening the business network in the Asian content industry.

(2) Objectives

We will hold an international conference aiming at “making a cross-border content market by the Asian content industry” and create an international network with reliable relationships for new business creation.
Specifically, we will create a system where key players of the content industry in each country and region come to better understand the differences of the features of each other’s markets and business motivation, and form a framework to increasingly forge reliable relationships for smooth information exchange and collaborative activities.
For this purpose, firstly, we will hold a periodical international conference where executives from industry, government, and academia gather every year to network so as to build reliable relationships. Secondly, we will set up concrete collaborative activities under the consensus of participating countries and regions in response to subjects or topics raised in the conference.
